Isaacman, Kaufman & Painter Attorney Profile: Julie Tatsugi Holmberg

Julie Tatsugi Holmberg was born in Tokyo, Japan and completed her undergraduate education at Pomona College and UCLA in 1981,  where she earned a B.A., Cum Laude, in Economics and Political Science.  She received her Juris Doctor in 1984 from the University of Southern California Law Center.
 
During law school, Ms. Holmberg was an extern for the Hon. Arleigh M. Woods, then Presiding Justice of the California Court of Appeals, Second Appellate District.  She also worked as a summer intern with a law firm in Tokyo.
 
She was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1984.  She has also been admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Central, Northern, Southern and Eastern Districts of California and the District of Colorado and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
 
Fluent in spoken Japanese and proficient in written Japanese, French and Korean, she specializes in business, entertainment, insurance coverage, antitrust, securities and real estate litigation.  Ms. Holmberg has extensive experience representing major corporations and individuals in a wide variety of business litigation cases and administrative proceedings including entertainment, securities, insurance coverage, intellectual property, real estate and antitrust law matters.
 
In addition, she has transactional experience involving franchise and distribution agreements and real estate. Prior to joining Isaacman, Kaufman & Painter, Ms. Holmberg practiced at mid-sized and major international law firms and also acted as in-house counsel for a Japanese automobile manufacturer and distributor. 
 
Some of her significant cases have included the representation of the producer of an Academy Award-winning motion picture in connection with an international distributor's profit participation payments for television and video distribution, the handling of major insurance coverage actions involving thousands of environmental claims against oil companies and manufacturers, and the prosecution and defense of securities fraud actions.
